Our Kinder Mission Statement
To provide a safe caring environment in which children learn through play.
Philosophy
The Committee of Management, staff and parents of Seabrook Kindergarten believe that there are fundamental elements in providing opportunities for children to realise their potential. We aim for children to meet their potential through the provision of the opportunity to: -
· solve problems
· to play
· imitate and model
· interact with others and form attachments
· imagine and create
· discover, explore and experiment
· express thoughts and ideas
· reflect on experiences
· propose theories and reasons
· master skills
· have meaningful experiences
We believe in the recognition of the uniqueness of each child and family, and the need for children to develop an understanding and respect for ones self and others. We acknowledge the critical importance of children, parents and staff as partners in a learning community that promotes the wellbeing, education and development of all children. We believe that the role of adults is to provide a stimulating and responsive environment where positive reinforcement and encouragement make learning possible. We recognise and value the knowledge and commitment of the staff and fully support their continuing professional development. Seabrook Kindergarten aims to be an integral part of the local community, encouraging participation from family, friends and community members. We acknowledge, rejoice and incorporate the culture and diversity of people within our community.
